PROVISIONAL RELEASE OF STANISIC AND SIMATOVIC STAYED
The prosecution is to file an application for leave to appeal the decision by the Trial Chamber to grant provisional release to former Serbian State Security Service bosses

At the request of the prosecution, the Trial Chamber stayed today the execution of its decision rendered yesterday to grant provisional release to Jovica Stanisic and Franko Simatovic from the UN Detention Unit in The Hague.
The prosecution has been ordered to file by the end of the day an application for leave to appeal the decision on provisional release. If the Chamber grants it and if after that a panel of three judges decides that there are grounds to consider the appeal, it will be heard by the full Appeals Chamber.
The Trial Chamber that granted the provisional release to Stanisic and Simatovic is composed of the presiding Judge Patrick Robinson from Jamaica, Korean judge O-Gon Kwon and Dutch judge Bert Swart.
